April 20th panel discussion hosted by The Iowa Independent and Simpson College
The Iowa Independent is excited to co-host a live panel discussion with Simpson College addressing immigration and its impact on the Iowa economy on Tuesday, April 20, at 7 p.m., in the Pioneer Conference Room in McNeill Hall of Simpson College in Indianola.
Panelists will discuss these challenges, workers rights, the impact on Iowa's community, upcoming potential federal immigration legislation and more.
Panelists include:
David Swenson is an associate scientist in economics and a lecturer in community and regional planning at Iowa State University, and a lecturer in the graduate program in urban and regional planning at the University of Iowa.
Patti Brown is the director of the Iowa Policy Institute, a free-market think tank based in West Des Moines.
Ruth Schultz, a Latino community organizer for Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement.
